Join MAPTA for the final installment of our MATLAB series! This seminar will introduce SimBiology as a software environment for mechanistic pharmacokinetic (PK), pharmacodynamic (PD) and quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) modeling and simulation. Our hosts will discuss how to perform model evaluation using both qualitative and quantitative methods to aid in model calibration to experimental data, calculate profile likelihood confidence intervals, and compute model predictions. For this session, we will use a PBPK/PD model published in [1], that characterizes the whole-body–to-intracellular PK-PD actions of GalNAc-siRNA, a novel siRNA being studied to treat various rare diseases. As well as the Phase I clinical trial data published in [2], which evaluates the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and safety profile of Vutrisiran, to treat TTR-mediated amyloidosis. This session is aimed at those new to SimBiology who are looking to understand the available methods as well as existing SimBiology users who want to learn about recent updates.
