Melinda Wenner Moyer, a visiting scholar at NYU’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute and contributing editor at Scientific American and columnist for Slate, was named the 2019 recipient of the Bricker Award for Science Writing in Medicine. She will present a lecture on "The joys and trials of science writing" in which she discusses how and why does someone choose a career in science journalism, and what does this kind of life entail?
The Bricker Award recognizes gifted science writers and their contributions to advancing science and medicine through science writing. The award is named in memory of former Houston Methodist employee David Bricker, a masterful science writer, beloved family member and great friend.
