Melinda Wenner Moyer, the 2019 recipient of the Bricker Award, will present a lecture on "The Joys and Trials of Science Writing," in which she will discuss how and why someone chooses a career in science journalism and what kind of life this entails. Moyer is a visiting scholar at NYU’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute, contributing editor at Scientific American and columnist for Slate.
The Bricker Award for Science Writing in Medicine recognizes gifted science writers and their contributions to advancing science and medicine through science writing. The award is named in memory of former Houston Methodist employee David Bricker, a masterful science writer, beloved family member and great friend.
