The Foundations of Manuscript Development is a two-part series designed to guide researchers through the essential stages of planning and writing an original research manuscript. Together, the sessions provide a structured roadmap for participants to position their work for successful journal submission and compliance with publisher, institutional, and research sponsor policies. This series is ideal for investigators at any stage who want a practical approach to navigating today’s increasingly complex and fast‑evolving scientific publishing landscape.

By the end of Part One, participants will be able to:

  • Locate and use key guidelines for publishing original research
  • Identify a journal target and specify your audience
  • Determine if a journal is compliant with the NIH Public Access Policy
