AMR Foundations Course, October 31 and November 2

About this Event
The AMR Foundations Course is focused primarily on the mechanisms of action and resistance of the most common antibiotics used in clinical practice, with important components related to antifungal resistance, genomics, microbiome science, the pharmacology of antibiotics, antibiotic stewardship and the important problem of C. difficile. These lectures will be for 1.15 hours, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the fall semester, by Zoom.
On Tuesday, Oct. 31, Dr. Micah Bhatti, MD Anderson, and Dr. Audrey Wanger, UTH, will discuss “New Emerging Technologies for Identification and Diagnosis of Multidrug-Resistant Organisms.”
On Thursday, Nov. 2, Dr. Cecilia Truc Tran, HMRI, and Dr. Vincent Tam, UH, will discuss “Relevant Concepts of PK/PD and Their Influence on Development and Prevention of Resistance.”
