Multiscale Approach to Combine Radiation and Cell Therapy for Cancer
Tuesday, September 27, 2022 12pm to 1pm
About this Event
Moonsoo M. Jin, PhD, will present his recent bench-to-bedside example of developing chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells against cancer, how the strategy of fine-tuning the affinity of CAR to make CAR T cells safer, and the introduction of a genetic reporter for imaging CAR T cells in patients by PET/CT. Dr. Jin will also touch on the challenges of T cells therapy against solid cancers, single-cell analysis revealing a loss of function of CAR T cells, and combination strategies to rejuvenate T cells to regain tumor killing. Lastly, he will describe a multiscale approach of delivering radiation to tumor and T cells to synergize with cell therapy.
