“The Hazards of Long-Term Urethral Catheterization in Women and Management of Their Complications”

 

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES 
Participants should be able to:

  • Recognize catheter-related complications at their early stage to be better able to prevent these including: bladder cancer, urinary tract infections, bypass leaking and urethral erosion
  • Manage early complications of urethral catheters
  • Diagnose more severe complications and plan for more advanced treatment
  • Apply the current guidelines on bladder management in their patients to avoid complications
